When the city of Paris experienced an overcrowding of their cemeteries in the 18th century, they began burying their dead in a series of tunnels underneath the capital.

The Paris Catacombs are now home to the remains of over 6 million people, and the small section of it that is open to the public is a hot spot for tourists.

There are, however, lots of tunnels and rooms of bones that aren't open to the public and people often find secret entrances to break in and wander around at night.

Though, in all honesty, why you would want to break into somewhere where you could actually trip over a skull is a little beyond me.

In 2004, police discovered that one of these hidden caverns in the tunnel system had been converted into a movie theatre.

It was equipped with a large cinema screen, seats for viewers, a fully stocked bar and even tables and chairs for what appeared to be a restaurant. Their source of electricity and the identity of those behind it remain unknown.

One of the ‘cataphiles' so intrigued by these creepy underground tunnels ventured into the restricted parts with his night vision camera became panicked, dropped his camera and many believe he never made it out.

Another group of explorers claim to have found his camera, and uploaded the footage, which shows the man becoming increasingly panicked, after looking into a room of bones and picking up a skull.

According to the Sun, this eery video was found in the catacombs by another group of explorers. After being viewed over a million times, the fate of the panicked man is still unknown.

He appears to have gone deep into the catacombs, far from the tourist section, finding bodies and bones that seem like they've been untouched since they were laid to rest.

This creepy video was first released in 2012 but is picking up interest again, probably due to how seriously creepy it is.

The lone-explorer is seen picking up skulls and exploring the numerous corridors before starting to panic.

The man seems lost and his breathe quickens as he moves more quickly, searching for an exit. He works himself up to the point where he drops the camera and we hear him running into the distance.
